Abstract:
Use of titanium dioxide mixed oxide as a photocatalyst, wherein the titanium dioxide mixed oxide has the following features: BET surface area: 5 to 300 m2/g, mixed oxide component: one or several oxides from the group comprising aluminium, cerium, silicon, tungsten, zinc and zirconium, proportions: titanium dioxide more than 97.5 wt.%, mixed oxide component = 0.1 to
Abstract:
Preparation containing at least one photocatalytically active metal oxide powder with a specific surface area of at least 20 m 2 /g at least one wetting agent. Use of the preparation for weed control.
Abstract:
Silicon titanium mixed oxide powder having the following features : BET surface area of 5 to 300 m 2 /g, silica content, based on the total amount of the mixed oxide powder, of = 0.1 to
Abstract:
Preparation containing at least one UV radiation absorbing metal oxide powder and at least one superspreading agent. Use of the preparation for the reduction of sunburn damage in useful plants.
Abstract:
Composition (A) contains at least one UV-absorbing metal oxide powder (I) where (a) (I) has specific surface area at least 20 m 2>/g and (b) the composition contains at least one 'superspreading' agent (II). An independent claim is also included for a method for preparing (A). ACTIVITY : Plant Protectant. A dispersion containing 35wt.% TiO 2(pyrogenic, aggregated particles of BET surface area 50m 2>/g), 21wt.% polyacrylic acid and 46wt.% water (sic) was diluted to contain 0.33wt.% oxide and the superspreading agent Break-Thru(RTM) S240 added at 0.041wt.%. The mixture was applied to beans at 300 l/hectare; mean photosynthetic capacity of treated plants was 1.60 mu mole/m 2>/s, with UV-induced damage (on a scale 0= no damage; 4= severe damage) 1.125 after 24 hours; contrast 1.78 mu mole/m 2>/s and 2.075 for untreated control plants. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Absorption and reflection of UV light.
Abstract:
Composition (A) contains: (i) at least one photocatalytically active metal oxide powder (I) of specific surface area at least 20 m 3>/g and (ii) at least one wetting agent. ACTIVITY : Herbicide. MECHANISM OF ACTION : (A) increases UV-induced damage to treated weeds.
