Further, the water supply apparatus, having a pump and a frequency converter for supplying electric power to the pump and controlling a rotational speed of the pump, includes a standard current value table in which rotational frequencies of the pump and standard current values as criteria for shutoff operation at the rotational frequencies are associated with each other, a rotational frequency detecting device for detecting a rotational frequency of the pump, a standard current value acquiring device for acquiring a standard current value corresponding to the rotational frequency detected by the rotational frequency detecting device with reference to the standard current value table, a current detecting device for detecting a current value supplied to the pump, and a comparing device for comparing the current value detected by the current detecting device with the standard current value acquired by the standard current value acquiring device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a rotary machine integral with a control device, which is effective to reduce the cost of manufacture of a variable-speed pump or the like, and allows control programs to be easily established at the installation site. The present invention also provides an inverter device suitable for the above mentioned rotary machine. A rotary machine and control device combination comprises a rotary machine such as a pump, a fan, or the like and a control device integral therewith. The rotary machine has an inverter device (20) for operating the rotary machine, a memory (11) for storing a control program (11A) for the inverter device and a program (11B) for controlling operation of the rotary machine, a CPU (12) operable according to the programs stored in the memory (11), an input and output unit (15) connected to sensors and switches positioned in said rotary machine, one or more serial ports (14) connected to the CPU (12), and means for rewriting contents stored in the memory (11). The memory stores a plurality of control programs, there is a means for externally selecting a control program to be used among the stored control programs. The inverter device has a circuit board with circuit components thereon are encased by molded resin, with only input and output lines and interface terminals being disposed outside of the molded resin.
