Abstract: A continuous material guide roller (14) essentially composed of a cylindrical thin-walled hollow body (4) with side surfaces (2) and fine through openings (5) on its peripheral surface. When a vacuum or compressed air is applied in the inner area of the cylinder (7), non-slip rotationally driven continuous material guide rollers and fixed or rotating air bearing rollers can be realized. Guide rollers, deflector rollers and feed rollers can be used in all types of continuous material conveyor equipment. Such rollers can be used advantageously in conveyor equipment for plastic or metal sheets and strips of film, paper and magnetic tape.
