A continuous material guide roller (14) essentially composed of a cylindrical thin-walled hollow body (4) with side surfaces (2) and fine through openings (5) on its peripheral surface. When a vacuum or compressed air is applied in the inner area of the cylinder (7), non-slip rotationally driven continuous material guide rollers and fixed or rotating air bearing rollers can be realized. Guide rollers, deflector rollers and feed rollers can be used in all types of continuous material conveyor equipment. Such rollers can be used advantageously in conveyor equipment for plastic or metal sheets and strips of film, paper and magnetic tape.

The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a transparent film or a transparent coating with at least a one-sided surface structure and a structural or two-dimensional pattern on the other side exactly according to register. The inventive method and device involve at least two rotating cylinders (15, 17) with coating (16) applied therebetween and hardening of the structural coating. A third rotating coating cylinder (19) enables a further coating exactly according to register to be applied to the rear side of the structural coating and to be hardened. The cylinders and the cylinder gaps can be adjusted in an extremely precise manner by appropriate devices. Rotation of all cylinders is controlled by a controlling drive mechanism.
