Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pancake made up of media in strip or tape form, in particular magnetic data recording media in tape form and comprising a magnetic tape that is cut into a use width and wound up on a hub, and an element that removes a sealing element having an internally integrated identification code and reattaches the sealing element, and a method for producing the pancake. SOLUTION: This pancake comprises the hub and media in strip or tape form, in particular the data recording media in tape form, including media wound up on the hub in a strip or tape form, and is sealed with the sealing element that connects an adhesive strip for sealing with the identification code. The sealing element is attached to the outer wound layer of the pancake in such a way that a free end of the outer wound layer of the pancake is formed in the region beneath the code portion.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll capable of saving a manufacturing cost, and having no disadvantage in manufacturing an adhesive strip with an identification code which is easily attachable to a tape roll. SOLUTION: In particular, a hub and a recording tape wound on the hub, an inexpensive adhesive seal strip cut in usable width and easy in handling, the tape roll having an integrated identification code inside, and a method of manufacturing this kind of tapes are provided. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an identification label, in which a position of a defect of a tape magnetic data recording medium can be recognized by a sensor. SOLUTION: The identification label 50b coding a strip or tape medium, in particular, a tape magnetic data recording medium which is wound around a hub for forming a pancake includes information prescribing the product specification 5. 1, a product code 5. 2, and a quality grade 5. 3. In addition, the position of the defect detected by the sensor in the strip or tape medium is also marked.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of a tray-like tape roll in taking up a belt-like or tape-like recording medium on a hub. SOLUTION: An outer cylindrical portion (2) and inner cylindrical portion (3) of the hub (1) for the belt-like or tape-like information medium provided with the interconnected outer cylindrical portion and inner cylindrical portion are connected to each other by three kinds of ribs (4, 5 and 6). The ribs (4 and 5) among these ribs extend diagonally with the direction oblique to the axis of rotation. The ribs (4 and 5) incline alternately oppositely with respect to the axis of rotation and exist in adjacent blocks. Respectively another rib (6) is disposed between a pair of the adjacent ribs (4 and 5) inclining oppositely and extending diagonally and the surfaces thereof are formed by the radial direction from the center point of the hub to the ribs (6) and the axis of rotation of the hub.
Abstract:
Raw material roll (10) of strip or band type material, especially magnetic data recording tape, comprises a core (50) on which the recording tape (10.1) is rolled and a locking element (70) that is fixed to outer winding (10.2) of the roll. With the element attached, a free end (10.3) of the outer winding is formed between the label section (70.4) of the locking element. An Independent claim is made for a method for producing a raw material roll of magnetic recording tape.

Date Jan. 18, 1996A winding hub for tape information carriers is designed with spring elements between an inner ring and an outer ring for providing a compression ratio from the inner diameter to the outer diameter of less than 1:4. To increase the holding forces of the winding hub during reeling, the spring elements are assigned limiter elements.
Abstract:
Roll made of media in one of strip or tape form and process for producing the roll, the roll including a hub with a data recording medium in one of strip or tape form wound thereon, the data recording medium having a tape end fastened on a roll of the data recording medium by way of a printed adhesive strip. A sealing element of the roll is formed by an adhesive strip having an adhesive underside. The adhesive strip overlaps the tape end with its one end by a first length and overlaps a label strip with its other end by a second length. The adhesive strip is adhesively attached to the upper side of the label strip. The adhesive strip is adhesively bonded to the outer circumference of the roll between two overlapping regions in a region with a third length. The label strip is provided on its upper side with an identification coding.
