Abstract: The invention relates to a flangeless stackable winding core, the intention being to avoid the inner central bore becoming compressed when a carrier of information in tape form is wound up under high winding pressure on such a core. This is achieved according to one embodiment by there being provided alongside the outer winding surface an outer core ring having a double-T profile and by there also being elastically deformable annular intermediate elements located between outer core ring and inner core ring. In the case of another embodiment, variously shaped openings or notches are provided on both sides of the winding core between outer circumference and inner circumference and are evenly distributed over the entire circumference.
