In a method of improved channel-dependent time- and frequency-domain scheduling in an OFDM based telecommunication system with multiple user terminals, determining SO a parameter value representative of the system load; pre-selecting S1 a subset of user terminals if the determined parameter value is larger than or equal to a predetermined threshold; and performing S2 frequency-domain scheduling of the pre-selected subset, to reduce the downlink signaling overhead and enabling improved efficiency of the channel-dependent time- and frequency-domain scheduling.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods for adjusting a guard period in a cellular wireless communication system, to a base station adapted to adjust a guard period, and to a network management entity for adjusting a guard period. One method comprises the steps: obtaining (S1) an indication of at least one downlink frame for an interference measurement; transmitting (S2) during the at least one indicated downlink frame an interference signal; measuring (S3) interference at least during a part of the guard period succeeding the indicated downlink frame; and setting (S4) at least one of an end time of at least one subsequence.

Relay reporting in a wireless network is implemented by efficiently allocating radio resources based on the nature or criticality of the type of relay report. According to an embodiment, a method of communicating with a relay located in a wire-less network includes instructing the relay when to transmit reports based on a mapping of different categories of relay reports to one or more different reporting schemes. Reports are received from the relay based on the relay report category and the corre-sponding reporting scheme. According to another embodiment, a method of reporting information from a relay to a network node of a wireless network includes generating different categories of reports at the relay for transmission to the network node. A re-porting scheme associated with each report category is identified and each report is transmitted to the network node in accordance with the reporting scheme identified for the corresponding report category.

Se describe un método y un arreglo en una estación base para planificar los recursos físicos en un ancho de banda de transmisión para un equipo de usuario servido por la estación base. Los recursos físicos pueden ser canales físicos o bloques de recursos de radio. Algunos recursos físicos dentro del ancho de banda de transmisión están sometidos a un valor de restricción de la potencia por requerimientos de rendimiento. El método comprende planificar los recursos físicos con base en el valor de restricción de la potencia por requerimientos de rendimiento, de los recursos físicos a ser gestionados. También, un método y un arreglo en un equipo de usuario para ayudar a una estación base para planificar los recursos físicos en un ancho de banda de transmisión para el equipo de usuario.
