Abstract:
Method and arrangement in a first base station for calculating a first location parameter α of a user equipment in order to improve beamforming accuracy. The first base station and the user equipment are comprised in a Coordinated Multiple Point “CoMP” communication system together with a second base station. The method comprises measuring a signal received from the user equipment, estimating a first parameter value α′ based on the measured signal, obtaining a second parameter value α″, based on an estimated second location parameter &bgr; of the user equipment, estimated at the second base station and calculating the first location parameter α, based on the first estimated parameter value α′ and the obtained second parameter value α″.
Abstract:
A first base station (14) in a wireless communication system (10) operating according to a synchronised time division scheme detects interference of uplink communication, determines the delay of the interference in relation to an own communication structure (CS1), detects aerial interface identifying data of the source of interference identifying a further base station and sends an indication of the further base station interfering uplink communication to the interference handling node (22). The indication is accompanied by identification data comprising aerial interface identifying data of the further base station and distance data determining the distance (D1) between the first and the further base station. The interference handling node (37) receives the indication with accompanying identification data, investigates the identification data in order to determine the identity of a candidate for the further base station and orders the candidate base station to perform an interference limitation activity.
Abstract:
A backhaul link is established between a base station and a relay that assists the base station in communicating with a mobile device over an access link established between the relay and the mobile device. The channel response of the backhaul link is determined by estimating first and second parts of the backhaul link channel response, the second part changing faster than the first part. The first part of the backhaul link channel response is estimated by calculating an average of the backhaul link channel response over a predetermined period at the relay and the second part is estimated by calculating variation in the backhaul link channel response over the predetermined period at the relay. Quantized versions of the first and second parts of the backhaul link channel response are transmitted from the relay to the base station over the backhaul link.
Abstract:
The present application discloses systems and methods for reducing output-to- input feedback signal interference caused by a forwarding node that is configured to forward information received from a transmitter. In some embodiments, this output-to- input feedback signal interference is compensated for by the transmitter. For example, the transmitter is configured such that the signal that is transmitted by transmitter to the forwarding node includes both (1) a primary signal or 'desired' signal (e.g., the signal that is intended for a receiving device) and (2) a filtered version of the primary signal. The filter that produces the filtered version of the primary signal is configured (e.g., the filter's filter weights are adapted) such that the filtered version of the primary signal cancels or reduces the undesired output-to-input feedback signal.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to methods for adjusting a guard period in a cellular wireless communication system, to a base station adapted to adjust a guard period, and to a network management entity for adjusting a guard period. One method comprises the steps: obtaining (S1) an indication of at least one downlink frame for an interference measurement; transmitting (S2) during the at least one indicated downlink frame an interference signal; measuring (S3) interference at least during a part of the guard period succeeding the indicated downlink frame; and setting (S4) at least one of an end time of at least one subsequence.
