Abstract: In a broadband Ethernet-based access network that employs traffic separation such that all traffic is routed via an edge node, the volume of traffic exchanged between end users connected to the access network, i.e. peer-to-peer traffic, represents a large burden on network capacity. This is alleviated in accordance with the proposed method and arrangement when the edge node identifies peer-to-peer traffic and generates address conversion information for access nodes connected to the end users concerned. The access nodes are then able to identify packets forming part of the peer-to-peer connection, modify address information to conceal the address of source end user from destination end user and vice versa and reroute the packets through the access network to the destination end user without passing through the edge node.

Abstract: En una red de acceso basada en Ethernet de banda ancha que empela separacion de trafico de manera que todo el trafico se enruta via un nodo de borde, el volumen de trafico intercambiado entre los usuarios finales conectados a la red de acceso, es decir, trafico de persona a persona, representa una gran carga en la capacidad de red. Esto se alivia de acuerdo con el metodo propuesto y la disposicion cuando el nodo de borde identifica el trafico de persona a persona y genera informacion de conversion de direccion para los nodos de acceso conectados a los usuarios finales en cuestion. Los nodos de acceso entonces pueden identificar paquetes que forman parte de la conexion de persona a persona, modifican informacion de direccion para ocultar la direccion de usuario final de fuente del usuario final de destino y vice versa y re-enrutan los paquetes a traves de la red de acceso al usuario final de destino sin pasar a traves del nodo de borde.

Abstract: The present invention relates to method and arrangement to minimize excess fiber cable in large-scale point-to-point fiber installations, between equipment ODF, AE located in different equipment cabinets 1, 2 . Each cabinet comprises at least one casing 4, 5 , which casings are arranged to connect fiber cables with equipment in the cabinets via fan-out fiber cables 6, 7 . The method comprises the following steps: Attaching one end of a ribbon fiber cable 3 to a casing 4 that is adherent to a first equipment cabinet 1 . Routing of the ribbon fiber cable with a minimum excess length to a casing 5 adherent to a second equipment cabinet 2 . Cutting the other end of the ribbon fiber cable 3 . Attaching the cut end of the ribbon fiber cable 3 to the casing 5 adherent to the second equipment cabinet 2.
