Abstract: A method and a system for transforming between one or more point type sources and a line source in a transmission line structure. A transmission line path controller is inserted between a first parallel-plate waveguide section and a second parallel-plate waveguide section. The transmission line path controller comprises a curved side to which one end of each waveguide is coupled. The transmission line path controller further comprises a waveguide slot, one side of which is a part of the curved side, coupling the waveguide ends that are coupled to the transmission line path controller. The ends of the waveguides that are not coupled to the transmission line path controller forms the point type source and the line source, respectively.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a microwave filter (700), comprising making at least one through-cutout (750) in a first electrically conductive plate (740) shaped as a rectangle, with a short side and a long side, inserting the first plate (740) between a second (710) and a third (730) electrically conductive plate (710), the first plate being arranged parallel to the second and the third plate, making electrical connections (794, 795) between said three plates for interconnecting those edge surfaces on the plates which coincide with the direction of propagation of the electrical signals, as a result of which a space comprising one or more cavities is formed. The first plate (740) is arranged so that the extent of its short side coincides with the E-field of the microwave signals when they propagate in the filter (700), and the extent of its long side coincides with the direction of propagation of the electrical signals.

Abstract: The invention provides an arrangement for use in an antenna array for transmitting and receiving at at least one frequency in at least two polarizations, comprising at least two antenna elements (210-208), where each antenna element is intended for one of the two polarizations, the antenna elements being arranged on a feeding structure (100, 320, 420) which conducts electrical signals to and from the antenna elements (201-208). The invention is characterized in that the feeding structure (100, 320, 420) comprises a number of waveguides (101) dimensioned for the said at least one frequency, in that the different waveguides are used for feeding the antenna elements (201-208) intended for different polarization, and in that the waveguides (101) are completely or partially filled with a material, the dielectric constant of which is higher than that of air, whereby an antenna array with small or negligible grating lobes can be obtained.The antenna elements (201-208) and the feeding structure (100, 320) are suitably arranged each on a separate plate (200, 310, 410) and in the feeding plate (100, 320, 420), a number of continuous recesses (101) are arranged which are constructed to operate as waveguides at the said at least one frequency.

Abstract: An antenna system (100) comprises a substantially planar electrically conductive ground plane (102) with an aperture (103), a substantially planar signal feed structure (104) parallel to the ground plane (102) and a substantially planar first dielectric layer (123) between the ground plane and the feed structure (104). The aperture (103) is in a shape of a first slot (105) orthogonally intersecting a second slot (106) at an intersection point (SIP). The feed structure (104) comprises a first feed unit (107) intersecting the second slot (106) asymmetrically with respect to the first slot (105), and a fork shaped second feed unit (108) comprising two feed arms (110,111). The feed arms (110,111) intersect the first slot (105) on either side of the slot intersection point (SIP), symmetrically with respect to the second slot (106). When used as a transmitting antenna, a first signal (Si) is fed through the first feed unit (107) and a second signal (S2) is fed through the second feed unit (108) to respective associated slot (105,106). The signals (S1,S2) excite the aperture (103) to radiate two substantially orthogonal linearly polarized signals.
