Abstract:
Compounds of Formula (4) or (5) that absorb ultraviolet light 380 nm to 400 nm range but avoid absorption in the blue light range, thereby imparting yellowness, i.e., 410-420 nm: have suitable refractive characteristics useful in the preparation of optical resins or plastics suitable, for example, for the manufacture of ophthalmic lenses. Methods for making the compounds, optic lenses containing the compounds, and methods for making these are also described.
