Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray source bearing housing assembly for improving heat dissipation. SOLUTION: The X-ray source (10) comprises a target anode (22), a rotor shaft (24) combined to the target anode, a motor combined to the opposite end of the rotor shaft to the target anode, and a bearing housing (28) including a hollow for the rotor. The rotor shaft extends through the hollow, and is supported by a plurality of bearings in the hollow. The housing and the shaft form a cooling refrigerant pool, and the cooling refrigerant in the pool is radially displaced when the shaft is rotated.

Abstract: An inductor (10) uses high temperature superconductive material in order to obtain high Q for high frequency operation. The superconductive material is applied as thin film (16F) to substrate (12F or 12S) Conductive films (14F, 14S) may be applied to the outside of the inductor in order to shield against leakage of the magnetic field. The conductive films (14F, 14S) may be of superconductive material. The inductor may be formed with plural superconductive layers (16F, 16S). The superconductive films may be applied to opposite sides of the same substrate. The inductor may be connected to a capacitor to realize a resonant circuit for use in a power conversion system.

Abstract: X-ray source bearing assemblies are described herein. In an exemplary embodiment, an x-ray source includes a target anode, a rotor shaft coupled to the target anode, and a motor coupled to the rotor shaft at an end of the shaft opposite the target anode. The bearing housing, in the exemplary embodiment, includes a rotor bore, the rotor shaft extending through said rotor bore and supported therein by a plurality bearings. The housing and the shaft form a cooling medium pool so that as the shaft rotates, a cooling medium in the pool is radially displaced.
