Acides polyamiques et polyimides sulfonés, notamment des polyétherimides, préparés en faisant réagir le polymère non sulfoné avec un agent doux de sulfonation. Des agents de sulfonation cités à titre d'exemple sont les complexes de trioxydes de soufre et de phosphates de triaryle ou trialkyle, notamment le complexe trioxyde de soufre - phosphate de triéthyle possédant un rapport molaire trioxyde de soufre/phosphate de triéthyle de 2:1.

A method of preparing a contact mass is provided comprising reacting silicon and a cuprous chloride to form a concentrated, catalytic contact mass. Furthermore, a method for making an alkylhalosilane using the aforementioned contact mass is provided comprising effecting reaction between an alkyl halide and silicon in the presence of said concentrated contact mass to produce alkylhalosilane.
