Abstract: The invention relates to azabicycloalkane carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula III" wherein n is an integer number of 0-10, W' is hydrogen, alkyl with 1-18 C atoms, or aralkyl with 7-10 C atoms, and R3, R4 and R5 are hydrogen or R3 and R4 taken together or R4 and R5 taken together are a chemical bond, not taking into account such compounds of the formula III", wherein a) R3, R4 and R5 are hydrogen, n=0, W' is hydrogen, (C1-C6) alkyl or (C7 or C8) aralkyl, nitrobenzyl included, R4 and R5 are in the cis configuration relative to one another and COOW' is directed towards the same side as the cyclopentane ring, or b) R3, R4 and R5 are as described above in point a), n=1, W' is hydrogen or (C1-C4) alkyl and COOW' is directed towards the same side as the cyclohexane ring, or c) R3 is hydrogen and R4 and R5 taken together are a chemical bond, n=0 and W' is hydrogen, and a process for the preparation of these compounds. Compounds of the formula III" can be used as intermediates in the preparation of therapeutically active N-substituted azabicycloalkane carboxylic acid derivatives.
