Abstract:
The known production of alkane phosphonic acid diesters from olefins and dialkylphosphites in the presence of free radical generators is improved by using Alpha -olefins having an extremely low content of sulfur. Thus high yields and pure products are obtained within short reaction times. The known products are foam depressants, anticorrosives, oiladditives, dyeing adjuvants and organic intermediates, expecially for plant protecting agents.

THEERMOPLASTIC MOULDING COMPOSITIONS FOT THE MAKING OF ANTISTATIC SHAPED ARTICLES ARE DISCLOSEED. COMPOUNDS OF THE FORMULA
R1-P(=O)-R2(-R3)
WHEREIN R1 IS AN ALKYL RADICAL OF 8 TO 24 CARBON ATOMS AND R2 AND R3 ARE ALLKYL RADICALS OF 1 TO 3 CARBON ATOMS HAVE PROVED TO BE ESPECIALLY EFFICIENT ANTISTATIC AGENTS, PARTICULARLY IN VIEW OF THEIR ADVANTAGEOUS TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES AMD OF THE FACT THAT OTHER FAVOURABLE PROPERTIES OF HE PLASTIC MATERIALS, IN WHICH THEY ARE CONTAINED, ARE NOT ADVERSELY AFECTED.
Abstract:
TERTIARY PHOSPHINE OXIDES ARE OBTAINED BY ADDING OLEFINS HAVING A TERMINAL HYDROXY OR AMINO GROUP OR FUNCTIONAL DERIVATIVES THEREOF TO SECONDARY PHOSPHINE OXIDES. THE ADDUCTS ARE USEFUL AS INTERMEDIATES IN THE PREPARATION OF FLAME-RETARDANT AGENTS, ANTI-CORROSIVE AGENTS, PESTICIDES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND DETERGENTS.

Abstract:
Flame resistant polycondensation products from aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, diols and diphosphinic acid structural units suitable for making shaped articles by molding, injection molding or extrusion.
Abstract:
Improved process for the preparation of dialkyl phosphites by means of refluxing phosphorous acid with alcohols under azeotropic separation of the reaction water formed, wherein primary or secondary straight-chained or branched aliphatic alcohols having at least 4 carbon atoms are reacted in an excess of at least 45 percent over the stoichiometrical amount with phosphorous acid in the absence of an inert solvent until the amount of acid in the reaction mixture is as low as possible. In comparison to known processes the dialkyl phosphites are obtained according to the instant process in higher yields and with higher purity. The dialkyl phosphites are valuable intermediates. Owing to their high purity, they are especially suitable as starting materials for such reactions catalyzed by radicals.
Abstract:
Improved process for the preparation of tertiary phosphine oxides by reacting dialkyl phosphine oxides with Alpha olefins, wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of high-energy radiation. In comparison with known processes the tertiary phosphine oxides are obtained according to the instant process within a shorter reaction time, with higher purity and with higher yields. The reaction products can be used as intermediates, surfactants, detergents and cleaning agents, especially in cosmetic products.
Abstract:
Flame-repellant linear polyesters are obtained by incorporating by condensation phosphorus-compounds having the formula O &uarr& HO-P-R-COOH, ¦ R1 wherein R and R1 are organic radicals which may also contain hereto atoms into the linear polyesters, preferably those from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol. These polyesters are materials of which flame-repellent filaments, fibers, sheets, press-moulded and injection-moulded articles may be made. Products of the invention can be used whereever especially acute risks of ignition and fire exist.
