    Abstract: The present invention relates to salts of copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and ethylenically unsaturated fatty acid derivatives containing (A) 1-99% by weight of structural units A of the formula where R is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, R is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, R is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, preferably methyl, X is -(CH2)0-10- or C6-C18-aryl, preferably phenyl and M is an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium ion, (B) 99-1% by weight of structural units B of the formula where R is C2-C16-alkyl or C2-C16-alkenyl, Y is C1-C13-alkylene, -CH2-(CH=CH-CH2)1-5- or -(CH=CH)1-3- and Z is a group of the formula CN, C(O)N(R )2, where R is hydrogen, C1-C18-alkyl, C1-C18-alkenyl and/or -(CH2)1-3-OH, COOR , where R is C1-C36-alkyl, preferably C1-C5-alkyl or C16-C36-alkyl, (C) 0-40% by weight of structural units C of the formula where R , R and R are as defined above and W is a group of the formula CN, C(O)N(R )2, where R is as defined above, COOR , where R is C1-C18-alkyl, preferably C1-C10-alkyl and (D) 0-40% by weight of structural units D of the formula where V is C6-C18-aryl, preferably phenyl or phenoxyacetyl, C4-C6-lactam, preferably N-pyrrolidyl, a group of the formula O-R , where R is C1-C18-alkyl, preferably C1-C10-alkyl, a group of the formula (O)C-R or a group of the formula OOC-R .     Abstract: Oils for metal processing (e.g. oils for cutting operations) are typically aqueous emulsions, and the emulsifiers for these processing oils should have lubricating bacteriostatic/bactericidal, and corrosion-inhibiting properties. Suitable emulsifiers should comprise the following components: (A) about 30 to 50, preferably 40 to 45, weight % of a chlorinated paraffin sulfonate in admixture with a partially chlorinated paraffin; (B) about 15 to 30, preferably 20 to 25, weight % of at least one alkylsulfonamide/carboxylic or alkylsulfonamide/aminocarboxylic reaction product or a salt thereof; (C) about 15 to 20, preferably 12 to 17, weight % of a surface-active compound of the formula R(CH2CH2O)nH in which n is from 3 to 12, and R is C10-C22-alkanoyloxy or -alkenoyloxy, C8-C22-alkoxy or -alkenoxy, C6-C16-alkylphenyl or -alkylnaphthyl, or mono-, di- or tri-C8-C22-alkyl- or -alkenylamine; and (D) about 15 to 25 weight % of a mono- or di-ethanolamine C12-C20 aliphatic carboxylic acid reaction product.

    Abstract: HOE 79/F 022 PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 5-NITROBENZIMIDAZOLONE-(2) of the disclosure: Nitration of benzimidazolone-(2) with nitric acid in water at 20 to 100.degree.C yields 5-nitrobenzimidazolone-(2) in high yield and purity. Since no side reactions occur the mother liquor can be recycled, thus avoiding waste water problems. The product can be reduced to 5-aminobenzimida-zolone-(2) which is a diazo component for azo dyes which, in turn, can be reacted with diketene to yield 5-acetoace-tylamino-benzimidazolone which is a coupling component for azo dyes, especially pigments.
