Abstract: New saturated fluoroalkylamines and carboxyalkylbetaines and alkylsulfobetaines derived therefrom, and mixtures containing the new fluoroalkylamines and mixtures containing the new fluorobetaines are described. The saturated fluoroalkylamines conform to the formula below (see formula I) in which n is an integer from 3 to 17 and R1 and R2 are C1 to C4-alkyl, C1 to C4-hydroxyalkyl or hydrogen, with the proviso that only one of the two substituents R1 and R2 is hydrogen. The carboxyalkylbetaines and sulfobetaines and the mixtures thereof are highly effective products for reducing the surface tension of water/air systems and the interfacial tension of water/hydrocarbon systems.

Abstract: The aqueous solvent-free dispersions contain polymers of monomers of the formulae (1) and (2> H2C=CR-COOC2H4-CnF2n+1 (1), in which R denotes fluorine, chlorine, hydrogen or methyl and n denotes numbers from 5 to 18 H2C=CRX (2), in which R denotes hydrogen or methyl and X denotes a group of the formulae C6H5, CO2CH2C6H5, CO2C2H4C6H5, CN, CO2CH2C6H4Cl, CO2C6H4-C1-C4-alkyl, CO2C2H2n+1 where n = 10 to 22, CONHY, in which Y denotes hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-hydroxyalkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy- C1-C4-alkyl or CO2-C1-C20-alkyl, and one or more emulsifiers of the formula (3> CnF2n+1CR R -CHR -(CH2)x-NR2O (3), in which R denotes C1-C4-alkyl or hydroxyethyl, R and R are identical or different and denote C1-C4-alkyl, hydrogen or fluorine, R denotes hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, x = 1,2 or 3 and n denotes numbers from 3 to 9, and/or of the formula (4> R R R NO (4), in which R and R may be identical or different and denote C1-C4-alkyl or hydrogen and R denotes C8-C18-alkyl. The dispersions are used as water repellents and oleophobic agents for textiles.

Abstract: 1 HOE 90/F 247 Aqueous dispersions of fluorine-containing polymers The aqueous solvent-free dispersions contain polymers of monomers of the formulae (1) and (2) H2C=CR-COOC2H4-CnF2n+1 (1) where R is fluorine, chlorine, hydrogen or methyl and n is from 5 to 18, H2C - CRX (2) where R is hydrogen or methyl and X is a group of the formula C6H5, CO2CH2C6H5, CO2C2H4C6H5, CN, CO2CH2C6H4Cl, CO2C6H4-C1-C4-alkyl, CO2C2H2n+1, where n is from 10 to 22, CONHY, where Y is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-hydroxy-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy-C1-C4-alkyl or CO2-C1-C20-alkyl, and one or more emulsifiers of the formula (3) CnF2n+1-CRl1R2-CHR3-(CH2)x-NR2O (3) where R is C1-C4-alkyl or hydroxyethyl, R1 and R2 are identical or different and each is C1-C4-alkyl, hydrogen or fluorine, R3 is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, x is 1, 2 or 3 and n is from 3 to 9, and/or of the formula (4) R1R2R3NO (4) where R1 and R2 are identical or different and each is C1-C4-alkyl or hydrogen and R3 is C8-C18-alkyl.
