Abstract: Metallocene compounds of formula (I) are new. In (I), Cp = optionally substituted cyclopentadienyl; Ind = optionally substituted indenyl; M = tetravalent metal; R -R = H or 1-20C hydrocarbyl; m = 1 or 2; k, l = 1 if m = 1; k, l = 0 if m = 2. Also claimed are (i) catalysts (I-A) containing compound(s) (I) and cocatalyst(s), (ii) a process for the production of polyolefins by polymerisation of olefins in presence of these catalysts, (iii) polyolefins obtained by this process, (iv) moulded products containing these polyolefins, and (v) a process for the production of (I) by reacting compounds of formula (II) with compounds of formula M(NR 2NR 2NR3 NR 2) (III). The preferred cocatalyst is an aluminium and/or boron compound. The catalyst may also contain a support, and metallocene (I) may be prepolymerised.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a metallocene compound of the formula I, (I) where Cp is an unsubstituted or substituted cyclopentadienyl group, Ind is unsubstituted or substituted indenyl, M is a tetravalent metal, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are, independently of one another, identical or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20-hydrocarbon radical, R5 and R6 are, independently of one another, identical or different and are each a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20-hydrocarbon radical, m is 1 or 2 and k and l are 1 when m is 1 and k and l are zero when m is 2. The metallocene compound is suitable as a catalyst component for olefin polymerization.
