Abstract: A powder pigment formulation contains (a) an (in)organic pigment, (b) a novolak, a bisphenol polyglycol ether, an oxalkylated fatty alcohol, amine or acid or esterified and/or arylated prods. of a natural or modified castor oil fat, which are oxalkylated and opt. linked to repeating structural units by esterification with dicarboxylic acids; (c) a water-soluble mixt. of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and vinyl alcohol (VAlc) or coPVA; and (d) opt. other usual additives. Also claimed is a method of producing the formulation.

Abstract: Pigment formulation is based on an aryl-pararosanilinesulphonic acid pigment of formula (I) and 8-20 C alcohol(s) (II) modified with 2-8-mole propylene oxide (PO) and 1-14 mole ethylene oxide (EO) units : R1-3 independently = H, C1, Br, 1-3 C alkyl or 1-3 C alkoxy. USE/ADVANTAGE - The formulation is claimed for use in printing inks, carbonless paper and typewriter ribbons. Abstract: A pigment paste prepn. comprises a) 5-50 wt.% of one or more pigments of formula (I) in which R1-R3 are independently H, a halogen, NO2, 1-3C alkyl, or alkoxy; b) at least one oily alkyd resin based on a polyester of oil content 70-80 wt.%; c) at least one hydrocarbon resin of average mol.wt. 600-1700 or at least one natural ester resin based on opt. modified, natural resin acids and mono- or multivalent 1-20C alcohols, where the wt. ratio of b):c) is 1:3-3:1; d) at least one flush-aiding material based on a condensn. prod.of a prim., sec. or tert. aliphatic amine or of a quat. ammonium cpd. with a polyester derived from a monobasic aliphatic hydroxy carboxylic acid opt. in the presence of a dye adduct of a similar polyester, and e) a high boiling mineral oil. DVANTAGE - Homogeneous, pumpable pastes are obtd. of enhanced storage stability, having reduced viscosity and thixotropy. The pressure technique properties are not negatively influenced.
