Abstract: A powder pigment formulation contains (a) an (in)organic pigment, (b) a novolak, a bisphenol polyglycol ether, an oxalkylated fatty alcohol, amine or acid or esterified and/or arylated prods. of a natural or modified castor oil fat, which are oxalkylated and opt. linked to repeating structural units by esterification with dicarboxylic acids; (c) a water-soluble mixt. of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and vinyl alcohol (VAlc) or coPVA; and (d) opt. other usual additives. Also claimed is a method of producing the formulation.

Abstract: 1480661 Reducing Ti and Al in aqueous waste HOECHST AG 17 July 1975 [17 July 1974] 30018/75 Heading C1C A process for reducing the Ti and Al content of aqueous waste liquid comprises establishing a pH of 4À5 to 9 and separating the resulting Ti and Al-containing deposit. A flocculating agent may be incorporated with the waste liquid to assist formation of the said deposit; a suitable agent is one based on polyacrylamide. The method is suitable for waste liquid obtained from the polymerization of olefins by, e.g., a Ziegler process.

Abstract: Pulverulent pigment preparation comprising a) an organic or inorganic pigment, b) a compound from the group consisting of novolaks, alkoxylated fatty alcohols, bisphenol polyglycol ethers, alkoxylated fatty amines, alkoxylated fatty acids or the esterification and/or arylation products prepared from a natural or modified castor oil fatty compound, which are alkoxylated and, if desired, esterified with dicarboxylic acids to form linked structural repeating units, c) a water-soluble mixture of polyvinyl alcohol and vinyl alcohol or of vinyl alcohol copolymers, and d) further customary additives, the sum of all components being 100% by weight. Plasters and emulsion paints are pigmented by simply stirring in the pulverulent pigment preparation.
