    Abstract: Flowable pasty raw materials for detergents capable of being pumped and having a content of washing active substance of more than 60% are obtained by neutralizing organic sulfuric acid semi-esters or sulfonic acids with alkalies. Before neutralization the sulfuric acid semi-esters or sulfonic acids are degassed and neutralization is carried out in a continuous flow mixer. The greater proportion of the mixture is conducted in a cycle whereas a smaller proportion is withdrawn as finished product. In the continuous flow mixer the usual buffer substances and preserving agents may be added to the products.

    Abstract: Prodn. of alkoxysilanes (I) is effected by (a) reacting an alkylhalosilane of formula (II) with NH3 to form a silazane cpd.(III); (b) removing NH4 halide from the prod.; and (c) reacting (III) with an oxyalkylene glycol monoalkyl etherm of formula (IV), or with a combination of (IV) and an oxyalkylene glycol of formula (V), while removing the NH3 released, until no more NH3 is released: where R = 1-18C alkyl; Hal = halogen, esp. Cl; X = R or halogen; R1 = 1-18C alkyl; R2 and R3 = H or M2; m and n = 1-10. Step (a) is effected in a hydrocarbon or ether solvent at 15-30 deg.C using 1.5-2 moles of NH3 per mole of halogen in (II). Ste; (c) is effected in the same solvent at 70-110deg.C using 2-2.5 moles of (IC) and opt. 1-1.5 moles of (C) per mole of Si-N-Si gps. in (III). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for prodn. of hydraulic fluids, esp. brake fluids. The process gives high yields (e.g. 85%) of (I) practically free of halogen cpds.
