Abstract:
An electronic device may be configured to prompt a user via an on-board display to measure user glucose via an on-board glucose meter, to compute a first drug bolus value based on the measured user glucose, to display the first drug bolus value on the display and prompt the user via the display to enter carbohydrate information into the device, to compute a second drug bolus value based on the entered carbohydrate information, to display the second drug bolus value on the display and prompt the user via the display to enter user health information into the device, to compute a third drug bolus value based on the entered health information and a total drug bolus value as a sum of the first, second and third drug bolus values, and to display the third and total drug bolus values on the display.
Abstract:
An electronic device may selectively disable a bolus advice process according to which the electronic device recommends delivery of a bolus amount of a drug to a body of a user based on a plurality of factors including glucose concentration of the user. The electronic device may include a glucose measuring facility configured to measure glucose concentration of a body fluid sample, and a processor including a memory having instructions stored therein that comprise the bolus advice process. The memory may further have instructions stored therein that are executable by the processor to request a glucose concentration measurement by the glucose measurement facility prior to executing, or as part of, the bolus advice process, and to disable execution of the bolus advice process if a glucose concentration value resulting from the requested glucose concentration measurement is less than a threshold value.
Abstract:
A diagnosis, therapy and prognosis system (DTPS) and method thereof to help either the healthcare provider or the patient in diagnosing, treating and interpreting data are disclosed. The apparatus provides data collection based on protocols, and mechanism for testing data integrity and accuracy. The data is then driven through an analysis engine to characterize in a quantitative sense the metabolic state of the patient's body. The characterization is then used in diagnosing the patient, determining therapy, evaluating algorithm strategies and offering prognosis of potential use case scenarios.
Abstract:
A method is provided for controlling a display device of an electronic device. A data field may be displayed on the display device. An editing process may be executed that provides for editing of the data field displayed on the display device. The data field on the display device may be magnified relative to other portions of the display device when selected for editing according to the editing process.
Abstract:
A system for determining drug administration information may comprise an input device providing for user input of feed forward information having a first parameter component and a second parameter component, a data storage device and a processor. The data storage de-vice may have stored therein a map correlating values of the first and second parameters to drug administration information. The processor may be responsive to user input of the feed forward information to determine corresponding drug administration information according to the map.
Abstract:
A method for generating activity recommendations in a diabetes treatment plan includes receiving physiological data, preferences, and suggested activities for a person with diabetes (PwD), generating physiological profiles for the PwD, providing the physiological profiles to a virtual physiological model, receiving projections from a virtual physiological model, generating weighted values based on the suggested activities and preference data, each weighted value corresponding to a likelihood of the PwD adhering to a suggested activity, ranking each activity based on the estimated change in the physiological characteristic of a projection associated with the activity relative to a baseline physiological projection and scaled by the weighted value corresponding to each activity, and generating an output including a predetermined number of suggested activities ordered based on the ranking of activities that provide a greatest change in the physiological characteristic given the likelihood of the PwD adhering to the suggested activities.
