    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dishonest use of a ROM circuit 36 and a test strip 34 in a system for monitoring the medically significant characteristic of body fluid on a contract. SOLUTION: A system 10 includes a meter 12, the ROM circuit 36, the test strip 34 and a registry 50. The meter 12 has an identifier corresponding to a contracted user. The ROM circuit 36 is supplied together with the strip 34 and includes calibration data and an identifier. The meter 12 requests a start code before performing a biosensing test. The meter 12 communicates with the registry 50 through a communicating means 40 and supplies a meter identifier and a ROM circuit identifier. The registry 50 checks whether the correspondence among the meter identifier, the ROM circuit identifier and a user identifier is valid or not. When the correspondence is confirmed to be valid, the registry 50 supplies the start code to the meter 12 so that the meter 12 can perform a test during a contracted period.
