Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lancet which can maintain the sterility, i.e. asepsis, of the tip of a lancet needle in the unused state at least until immediately before use and hygienically protect the tip of a lancet needle in the used state. SOLUTION: In a lancet including a lancet needle with the tip and a hollow body to surround at least the tip, the tip area of the lancet needle is movable within the hollow body and the hollow body can be at least partially pierced by the tip of the lancet needle during the lancing process. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent repeated puncturing of a body part by a lancet. SOLUTION: This blood collection system comprises a housing 2 having a lancet guide 3 guiding a lancet 8 onto a predetermined puncture path, and a lancet drive 4 driving a puncturing movement of the lancet on the predetermined puncture path. The puncturing movement comprises a forward movement phase in the direction of puncturing and, after reaching a reversal point, a subsequent retraction movement phase. The lancet drive has a driving spring 5, which is connected to the lancet so that the lancet is driven in the puncturing direction. The system comprises an oscillation control device for controlling oscillation of an oscillatory system which comprises the lancet and the driving spring, in such a manner that its oscillation is altered to prevent repeated puncturing of the body part by the lancet. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for withdrawing an appropriate amount of body fluid (especially, blood) by using a hole having a shallow depth. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a freely deformable pressing means which impresses a pressure upon part of a body in a first direction and converts part of the pressure into motions in a second direction having a perpendicular component to the first direction so that the internal pressure in a partial area of the impressed part of the body may be increased and a perforation means provided with a member selected from the group consisting of a lancet and a cannula.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a body fluid sampling from a body part, particularly a finger pad. SOLUTION: This system for the body fluid sampling is provided with a compression unit deformable by the pressure of the body part and causing an increase in internal pressure in a region of the body part, and a sampling device. The primary pressure movement is partially converted into a secondary movement by the deformation of the compression unit. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lancet system for collecting blood or other bodily fluid which is provided with a plurality of lancets in as a small place as possible. SOLUTION: The system has i) the plurality of lancets 1 substantially in the state of needles, ii) a driving unit 6 provided with a driving part for moving the lancet to a lancing position from a housing position so as to carry out a lancing process, iii) a storing range for housing the lancets, iv) a pull-out range for guiding at least the tips of the lancets to the outside of the system in the lancing process and v) a moving unit for moving the lancets to the g pull-out range from the storing range to move the lancets to the lancing position from its housing position. The system has a returning device which operates the lancets arranged in the pull-out range mutually within the pull-out range for moving the lancet to the housing position from the lancing position after the completion of the lancing process.

The invention relates to a piercing system for producing a puncture wound which enables to pick up a body liquid sample and comprises a pressure part (4) applicable to a body part (32) in which the puncture wound is producible, a triggering element (8) whose operation enables a user to trigger a puncture movement of a puncture element (3) after pressing the pressure part (4) and a checking device (5,15,20) for determining at least one parameter dependent on the sampling probability. According to said invention, a security device (9) is used for locking the triggering element (8) in the locking state in such a way that no puncture movement is triggered and for releasing said triggering element (8) in the triggering state in such a way that the puncture movement is triggered, wherein the security device (9) is transferred from the locking state to the releasing state by the action of the checking device (5,15,20) when the checking parameter determined thereby satisfies the minimum predetermined requirements, the puncture system also comprises a signalling device (12) for signalling the transition of the security device (9) to the triggering state and/or for signalling that said device is in the triggering state. A method for preparing the puncture system for producing a puncture wound is also disclosed.

Lancet (28) with a ground tip which is made from lancet wire and has a first ground surface (31) and another ground surface (33) arranged at a defined angle in relation to each other, the length of the lancet (28) being at most 16 mm. Method for producing lancets for collecting blood for medical analysis purposes, having at least one ground surface (31) generated in a grinding operation, wherein a lancet wire (6) is positioned by means of a positioning device (2a) in a defined grinding position relative to a grinding element (10) of a grinding device (1), characterized in that the following method steps are carried out in this sequence: drawing the lancet wire (6) from a reel (5) and transporting it into the positioning device (2a); fixing the lancet wire (6) in the positioning device (2a); grinding the free end (7) of the lancet wire (6) by means of the grinding device (1) in order to generate at least one ground surface (31), and cutting off the free end (7) of the lancet wire (6) at a cutting position to give a lancet (28) of defined length.
