    Abstract: A spring motor for driving a covering over an architectural opening is provided. A first rod extends lengthwise within a rail along a first rotational axis and a second rod extends lengthwise within the rail along a second rotational axis. The first rod extends lengthwise within an interior of a housing within the rail along the first rotational axis and the second rod extends lengthwise within the interior of the housing along the second rotational axis. The first and second rods extend through the housing such that each of the first and second rods extends completely through the housing between the ends of the housing. A drive component of the motor within the interior of the housing rotationally drives the first rod to rotate relative to the housing about the first rotational axis and the second rod passing through the housing without being rotationally driven by the drive component.

    Abstract: A covering for an architectural opening is made for better closure, especial ly adjacent to the bottom rail. A movable weight is mounted on the bottom rail, so that the weight shifts to the lower side of the bottom rail when the bottom rail is tilted. A lift cord is mounted to support the bottom rail while being freely movable relative to th e bottom rail at least in the front-to-back direction. The weight helps shift the bottom rail into the desired position, and, by being freely movable in the front-to-back directio n, the lift cord does not interfere with the motion of the bottom rail.
