    Abstract: A bottom rail for a covering of an architectural-structure covering is disclosed. In one example of an embodiment, the bottom rail includes a first or front member, and a second or rear member. The first and second members are arranged and configured to be coupled to each other with a bottom portion of a covering positioned in between the first and second members. Thus arranged, the first member is coupled to the second member, and the covering is securely coupled to the bottom rail. In addition, and/or alternatively, the covering may be received within the bottom rail along a tortuous pathway. In addition, and/or alternatively, the bottom rail may include a front profile or surface that substantially corresponds to a front profile of battens extending across a width of the covering. Moreover, the bottom rail may enclose the lowermost batten so that consistent spacing of the battens is maintained.

    Abstract: A covering for an architectural opening includes a head rail, a bottom rail with a take-up roller therein and an intermediate rail with both the intermediate rail and bottom rail suspended from the head rail, a fabric material interconnecting the intermediate rail with the bottom rail and being adapted to be wrapped around the roller in the bottom rail, said fabric including a pair of vertically oriented sheets that are horizontally spaced by a plurality of vertically spaced horizontal vanes with the vanes being movable between open and closed positions by opposite vertical movement of the sheets of material. In a first embodiment a first control system is provided for raising and lowering the bottom rail and a second control system for raising and lowering the intermediate rail as well as tilting the intermediate rail to effect an opening or closing of the vanes. In alternative embodiment, the bottom rail is controlled with a spring balanced system so that it remains in any position in which it is normally set.

    Abstract: A device and method for packaging and protecting window treatments to provide cushioning and protection against impact wherein one embodiment of packaging provides a foam end piece to capture, cushion, and protect each end of the window treatment by folding the foam end piece over itself and trapping the end of the window treatment within it. Each foam end piece in turn fits into a box to restrain its respective foam end piece. The boxes are axially aligned and shrink-wrapped (or stretch-wrapped) together with the window treatment to provide additional structural integrity to the final package while also providing dust protection and holding all the parts together in a single package.
