Abstract: A column connection method of a liquid chromatograph and a liquid chromatograph capable of keeping a mistakenly installed column by an operator as an unused column are provided. The column connection method of the liquid chromatograph includes: a first step of installing a column at a column installation part and obtaining a first reading result by reading identification information of the column before connecting the column with an analysis flow path; and a second step of connecting the column with the analysis flow path and obtaining a second reading result by reading identification information of the column, in which the first reading result is compared with the second reading result to judge identity of the column.

Abstract: A chromatograph allows easy replacement of a separation column while preventing an operator from contacting with a configuration related to the separation column. A column cartridge accommodates the separation column and is detachably provided in a predetermined column installation position. An upstream pipe is detachably provided on the column cartridge in a state of being installed at the column installation position, and supplies a mobile phase to the separation column of the column cartridge. A downstream pipe is detachably provided on the column cartridge in a state of being installed at the column installation position, and delivers the mobile phase that has passed through the separation column of the column cartridge. A cover integrally covers the column installation position, the upstream pipe, and the downstream pipe and has an insertion hole that allows the column cartridge to be installed from the outer side of the cover.

Abstract: A technique for replacing a separation column includes: a driving device supporting a first pipe along a first direction; a fixing member that fixes a second pipe to be opposed to the first pipe along the first direction; a column case between the first pipe and the second pipe, having a first and second holes communicating with the first and second pipes, respectively; and an interlocking mechanism that moves the column case in the first direction in conjunction with movement of the first pipe. The column case allows a column cartridge retaining a separation column to be connected and disconnected. The driving device moves the first pipe and the interlocking mechanism such that two states are reversibly taken; a closed state in which the separation column is between the first and second pipes and an open state in which the first and second pipes are positioned outside the column case.

Abstract: Application of the present invention enables quantification of fractions of candidate pharmaceutical compounds (a parent compound and its metabolites), one excreted to the basolateral (Basal/Basolateral)-side via transporters and by diffusion, one excreted to the lumen (Apical)-side, and one remained in the cells. This enables determination of the total amount of the administered candidate pharmaceutical compounds and the distribution ratio of the fractions. The kinetics of the administered candidate pharmaceutical compounds can be evaluated, thereby enabling in vitro screening of an enormous number of candidate pharmaceutical compounds for drug candidates exhibiting the efficacy. The object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for understanding a total picture of pharmacokinetics in vitro by quantifying a fraction of basolateral (Basal/Basolateral) efflux, a fraction of lumen (Apical)-side excretion, and a fraction remaining in a cell of a drug which has been administered to the cell to determine the distribution ratio of each fraction.
