    Abstract: PURPOSE: To compensate/correct the rotary actuator arc of a direct access storage device(DASD) by changing the amplitude and phase of a reference feed forward correction signal which is formed in response to a discriminated specific selective track. CONSTITUTION: A servo processor 52 transmits a control signal to DAC 54 which is combined to a current driver 56. The driver 56 supplies a control current to a rotary actuator 58 so as to move the transducer head 28 of a RAW channel 60. The detection position data indicated by a block 62 is combined to the servo processor 52. With a feed forward control block 64 combined to the servo processor 52, control information is obtained for the compensation/ correction of both amplitude and phase against change in a track number or radius, and also for compensation/correction of a pseudo sector. For the purpose of proper compensation of the feed forward signal to a file, both amplitude and phase for correction must be compensated against change in the track number or radius.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved data channel device and method for a data storage device or a communication system by which the performance in a readout or reception mode is optimized without requiring the rereading out or retransmission of data. SOLUTION: A multipath channel device corresponding to a data storage device which stores data on a storage medium and reads out the data from the storage medium by means of a transducer or data communication system which transmits the data to a receiver is provided. A data channel having a plurality of data paths is operatively connected to the transducer so that the transducer can receive the data read out from the storage medium by means of the transducer or to the receiver so that the receiver can receive base-band data which are demodulated by the receiver or to be received by the receiver.
