    Abstract: The invention provides a redundant disk storage system comprising a hard disk drive device consisting of a pair of hard disk drives having a magnetic disk which is a magnetic recording medium for recording data and a magnetic head for recording and reading data recorded on said magnetic disk and a controller for controlling said hard disk drive device so as to record data identical to data transferred from a host computer in each of said pair of hard disk drives, read data from one of said pair of drives, and transfer read data to the host computer; said controller controls said hard disk drive device so that data identical to data transferred from said host computer is recorded at different locations on the respective magnetic disks of said pair of drives.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an interface circuit executing data transfer without error by means of the same hardware whatever mode a host is in. CONSTITUTION: In a computer system including a pre-reading mode starting block data transfer after reading the situation of the pertinent device in response to interruption from a peripheral device (HD) or a host reading the situation after finishing block data transfer, the interface is provided with a mode detection means 60 automatically detecting which mode the host is operated in order to execute data transfer without an error between the peripheral device and the host whatever mode the host is in, a delay means 62 delaying a data request DRQ showing block data transfer preparation is finished when a post-reading mode is detected by a prescribed time, and an interruption means 64 sending an interruption request IRQ to the host in response to the output of this delay means.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To attain an information processing task with high reliability by executing a writing and reading operation only to a residual normal disk storage devices when any one of the disk storage devices breaks down. CONSTITUTION: A connector 101 is connected through a host SCSI bus 102 with a host SCSI adapter 103. The host SCSI adapter 103 is connected with a system bus in a host computer 104. The host SCSI adapter 103 has the best ID(identification code) = 7 in the host SCSI bus 102, and the connector 101 has ID=n ((n) is integers 0-6). Residual six SCSI, that is, SCSI devices having SCSI interfaces whose ID is 0-6 except (n) can be connected with the host SCSI bus 102. Then, when one of a pair of disk storage devices breaks down, the device which breaks down is separated, and a writing and reading operation is executed to the other normal disk storage.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform data transfer between a host computer and an HDD without providing a data RAM in a control unit. CONSTITUTION:After a bus controller 40 is set when the power source is turned on to change the operation of buffer selectors 18 and 20 from B to C, an ID command is sent to an HDD 1 and an HDD 2. After the controller 40 is set to change the operation of the selectors 18 and 20 from C to B, parameters stored in the RAMs of the HDD 1 and HDD 2 are stored in the RAM of an MPU 26 and the stored parameters are changed into parameters for a mirror disk. The parameters for the mirror disk which are changed are written in the RAM of the HDD 1. And, the parameters for the mirror disk are read out of the RAM of the HDD 1 and sent to a host computer 10 at the same time.
