Abstract: This invention relates to a personal computer apparatus having a storage device, and to a tool for removing the storage device from the personal computer. More particularly, an arrangement is described in which a tool is operated manually to separate the storage device from its connections to the personal computer. The storage device may be for example a hard disk drive which is directly attached to the bus structure provided by a planar board or motherboard of the personal computer system.

To reduce electromagnetic radiation, the slots in the main enclosure have a depth such as to define channels, and the brackets on the cards are of U-shaped cross-section such as to fit within the channels. The channel walls are conductive, and the brackets are shaped to define spaced outward contact points which closely engage the channel walls.
