Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving display quality. SOLUTION: A gradation upper-limit value (n) and a gradation lower-limit value (m) displayed on the display screen of an LCD module are detected at specific intervals and the setting of a γcurve is remapped according to the range to dynamically remap a luminance distribution. Further, when the gradation upper-limit value (n) or gradation lower-limit value (m) increases, the peak value of the γ curve is immediately varied. When the gradation upper-limit value (n) or gradation lower-limit value (m) decreases, on the other hand, the peak value of the γ curve is varied on condition that the decrease lasts for a specific number of frames or more.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a liquid crystal display device by shortening a frame cycle for replotting picture display in an LCD (liquid crystal display) panel and lowering the operating frequency of the LCD panel. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with an LCD panel 11 and a graphic controller 13 controlling display in the LCD panel 11. When the suppressing of power consumption is performed in the display device, the graphic controller 13 shortens the frame cycle while fixing a refresh rate as it is by shortening a non-display cycle at the time of replotting a picture.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which an input means such as a keyboard can be illuminated without adding a new component and without increasing power consumption. SOLUTION: Windows 7 are formed on the back face of a liquid crystal display 4. Light rays pass through the windows 7. Then, a part of light rays emitted from light sources in the display 4 is leaked from the windows 7. The leaked light rays can be utilized to illuminate the keyboard 3 by adjusting the position of the display 4.
