Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of achieving the reduction of electric power consumption without degrading user-friendliness. SOLUTION: When, for example, an idle state continues for five minutes, a user is able to set an LCD panel so as to lower its refresh rate. The user is also able to set the LCD panel so as to lower the refresh rate when the residual capacity of a battery reaches 30% in addition to the case of the continuation of the idle state. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer device superior in visibility and operability, a display device, a display controller, the processing method of an image or the like. SOLUTION: A part of the image displayed on the screen of a display is magnified/displayed only in one direction and is displayed on a window W3. When a horizontally written sentence is displayed, the image of a part of the screen is magnified only in a vertical direction. When a vertically written sentence is displayed, the image is magnified only in a horizontal direction.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a liquid crystal display device by shortening a frame cycle for replotting picture display in an LCD (liquid crystal display) panel and lowering the operating frequency of the LCD panel. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with an LCD panel 11 and a graphic controller 13 controlling display in the LCD panel 11. When the suppressing of power consumption is performed in the display device, the graphic controller 13 shortens the frame cycle while fixing a refresh rate as it is by shortening a non-display cycle at the time of replotting a picture.
Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus and computer apparatus allowin g power consumption to be effectively reduced. The refresh rate of an LCD panel is changed as th e brightness of the LCD panel changes. When the brightness of the LCD panel is decreased, the refres h rate is also decreased. In addition, whether the power source of the apparatus is AC or D C is determined based on whether an AC adapter is attached or not. When the DC power source is use d, the brightness and refresh rate of the LCD panel is lowered with respect to when the AC power source is used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system changing apparatus and a method for the same, for automatically changing the display system of a television receiver to over-scan or under-scan according to the content of a screen. SOLUTION: When a computer 11 connected to the television receiver 12 is used, where the playback of a DVD and a game are started, a call from applications 13 and 14 to APIs (Application Program Interface) 18 and 19 is detected by a device driver 16, and an output system to the television receiver 12 is changed to over-scan, thereby a moving picture and the game are displayed on the television receiver 12 in over-scan manner. When the play-back of the DVD and the game are finished, however, the call to the APIs 18 and 19 for releasing a resource is detected by the device driver 16; and the output system is returned to under-scan and thereby, the computer screen is displayed on the television receiver 12 in under-scan. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform switching of windows after the execution of power management. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a mode transfer determination module 200a which determines the transfer to a power save mode when prescribed conditions are fulfilled; a full screen window opening module 200b which instructs a multi-window OS to open a full screen window in order to reduce the energy consumption of a display when transfer to a power save mode is determined; a window information acquisition module 200c which acquires the information of an open window from the multi-window OS; a window array module 200d which instructs the multi-window OS to arrange the window in a way an active window is displayed on the front of the full screen window; and a full screen window closing module 200e which instructs the multi-window OS to close all the full screen window according to the instruction to end a power save mode. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily stop the supply of a clock and power to a VRAM without the need of storing the contents of the VRAM and performing recovery based on stored data. SOLUTION: This information processor is provided with power saving means 21-24 for shifting a memory for display to a power saving state where image data are to be lost and restoring it, a storage area 25 for storing a prescribed starting condition, a routine starting means for starting a prescribed routine when the starting condition is satisfied, routine ending means 21 and 22 for ending the routine, and a re-plotting means for performing re-plotting to the memory for display when the routine is ended. Then, the information processor is provided with a starting condition rewrite means 26 for rewriting the starting condition stored in the storage area so as to start the routine at the time of shifting to the power saving state or at the time of restoration from the state, and a start condition restoration means 26 for returning the rewritten starting condition to the original condition after the routine is started. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a computer system by which power consumption can effectively be reduced. SOLUTION: A refresh rate is changed in accordance with the changing of the brightness of an LCD(liquid crystal display) panel, and when the brightness of the LCD panel is lowered, the refresh rate is changed. It is judged whether the power source of the display device is an AC power source or a DC power source by judging whether an AC adaptor is connected to the device or not, and when the power source of the device is the DC power source, the brightness and refresh rate of the LCD panel are lowered than those at the time the power source of the device is the AC power source.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suitably display both of a computer image output and a natural picture by comparing image information on a current scanning line with the image information of a corresponding position on a preceding scanning line and determining the execution of interpolating processing based on the compared result. CONSTITUTION: A line buffer 22 temporarily stores image information worth one horizontal scanning line. An averaging circuit 23 finds out a weighted mean value between the image information of each pixel on a current scanning line, which is outputted from a color/space conversion circuit 21 and the image information of a corresponding pixel on a preceding scanning line which is inputted from the line buffer 22 and outputs the mean value as interpolating information. A differential circuit 24 outputs a difference between the image information of the preceding corresponding pixel and that of the current pixel. A comparing circuit 25 compares the output of the circuit 24 with a prescribed threshold. A selection circuit 26 outputs interpolated information by regarding the current pixel as a pixel related to a computer image in a section more than the threshold and outputs the image information of a non-interpolated current pixel by regarding the current pixel as a pixel related to a natural image in a section less than the threshold.
