    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability about a method that undocks an optional number of stages structure from a multistage dock structure docking a plurality of expanding devices having respective inherent resources to a portable PC body. SOLUTION: For instance, when only the portable PC body 11 is undocked from a three-stage dock structure in which 1st and 2nd expanding devices 31 and 41 are docked with the portable PC body 11, the device 31 is made to generate an undock event. An IDE device 32 held by the device 31 and a PCI device 42 held by the device 41 are released from the control of an operating system at occurrence of a undock event as turning point, and their interfaces are also electrically separated. Operability is improved because an object to be undocked can be grasped in a unified way by both sense of sight and operation.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the power interruption of a computer by a simple constitution without depending on the state of a computer. SOLUTION: During the operation of a computer, a Power signal, an Reset signal, and a Function signal are turned into a high level at a normal position in a power source switch 46 (A), and the Function signal is switched into a low level signal when a function key 42A is depressed, and only the key 42A is validated (B). When the power source switch 46 is moved to an instructed position, and the key 42A is not depressed, only the power signal is validated, and power supply or power interruption can be instructed (C). Then, when the power source is moved to the instructed position, and the key 42A is depressed, the Reset signal is switched into a low level signal, and the Rest signal is validated by the key 42A (D). Therefore, when the power switch 46 is moved to the instructed position, and the key 42A is depressed, the power source can be forcedly interrupted regardless of the activated state of the computer.
