Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when a computer with a mini PCI card or a device corresponding to the mini PCI card inserted thereinto is in an inactive state. SOLUTION: An I/O bridge 21 for outputting inactive information about whether or not a computer system is in an inactive state and a Vaux off at sleep resister 42d holding information about whether or not to feed auxiliary power VccAUX to a mini PCI device 60 when the computer system is inactive, are provided. When a signal from the I/O bridge 21 is L and a signal from the register 42d is L, the feeding of the auxiliary power VccAUX is stopped from a DC/DC converter 55.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer device capable of reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: When a sensor detects that a LAN cable is unplugged from a LAN cable connector 63, an embedded controller 41 informs an OS of the removal of the LAN function and the OS in turn stops the use of the LAN function and then stops the operation of a LAN controller 61 and a transmitting/ receiving circuit 62 and shuts off the power supplied from a power circuit 50 to the LAN controller 61 and the transmitting/receiving circuit 62.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer device and a control method or the like for mounting and dismounting a device capable of mounting plural devices in a hot-swappable manner. SOLUTION: In a notebook type PC, when a bay device 32 is hot-swapped/ warm-swapped with two connectors 72A and 72B connected to an IDE controller 70, a bay controller electrically (virtually) disconnects the connectors 72A and 72B once, and the bay device 32 is mounted and dismounted in this state. After completing the mounting or dismounting, the bay device 32 left on the connectors 72A and 72B is detected and brought into a usable state by carrying out predetermined setting to a master, a slave or the like. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system, etc., capable of realizing a WOL(wake on LAN) in a PC provided with a core chip-in type I/O bridge. SOLUTION: Power is supplied to an I/O bridge 21 incorporating a LAN communicating part 80 by only connecting an AC adapter 51 to the PC to make the PC available. Besides, in a gate array 42, a signal (Power State Enable = L) is outputted to an AND gate 82 so as not to perform voltage supply to power supplies (Vcc-A and Vcc-B) of main parts of the PC 10 only by connecting the AC adapter 51, and a signal (Power State Enable = H) for performing voltage supply is outputted to the power supplies (Vcc-A and Vcc-B) of the main parts of the PC 10 for the first time when an operation for the WOL and normal power-on is performed. Namely, the gate array 42 takes responsibility for power supply control after connecting the AC adapter 51 to the PC 10.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system, a power supply managing method, etc., capable of performing power supply rich in variation. SOLUTION: This computer system performs power supply control in a gate array 42 based on an indication of an OS and a BIOS on an on mode with respect to a bay device 33 connected to a bay 32, and performs power supply control by an embedded controller 41 in a sleep mode and an off mode. By using an OR gate 71, setting is performed so that output signals (BAY- ON- EC and BAY- ON- GA) from the embedded controller 41 and the gate array 42 do not interfere with each other.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor, a control method, a program, and a recording medium which are capable of preventing a noise that a user finds harsh. SOLUTION: The information processor has a plurality of operation modes different in power consumption and switches operation modes in accordance with an amount of processing. This information processor is equipped with a cyclic switch detecting means for detecting whether or not the information processor cyclically switches a low power operation mode of smaller power consumption out of the plurality of operation modes to a high power operation mode of greater power consumption; and an operation mode changing means for changing the operation mode switched by the information processor to a combination of operation modes whose difference in power consumption is smaller than a difference between the low power operation mode and the high power operation mode when the switch cycle detected by the cyclic switch detecting means is shorter than a preset cycle. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor which conducts a process that a user desires while maintaining a low consumption state. SOLUTION: The information processor 10 is provided with a power button 200, which starts operation of an operating system 252, when an input of the user is received, a control part which receives an input to a switch 215 different from the power button 200 in an operation suspended state that the operation of the operating system 252 is suspended, and an execution part 230 which conducts a prescribed process with the operation suspended state kept when the control part 222 receives the input to the switch 215 in the operation suspended state. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make one of a plurality of modems function when the plurality of modems are accepted by a notebook type computer. SOLUTION: When a computer device accepts a miniPCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) device 60 and a CDC(Communication Daughter Card) 70 which function as modems as extension devices, signals from an I/O bridge 21 are sent to both the miniPCI device 60 and CDC 70, but signals from the miniPCI device 60 are cut off by a bus switch 65 and only signals from the CDC 70 reach the I/O bridge 21, so that CDC 70 functions as a modem. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform hot-undocking of an expanding device, for instance, without making a portable PC body shutdown. SOLUTION: In the case an eject event is detected when the portable PC body 11 having a main battery 21 is subjected to hot-undocking from an expanding device 41 having a sub battery 42, the state of the battery 42 is judged. As a result, when the battery 42 is in the middle of discharge, a power supply route to the portable PC body 11 is switched from the sub battery to the main battery. When the battery 42 is in the middle of being charged, the charging is stopped. Then, hot-undock processing is carried out.
