    Abstract: Systems and methods of application integration, including constructing an application integration adapter in dependence upon a profile including data describing the adapter, receiving instructions to alter the adapter, and altering the adapter in dependence upon the instructions. Embodiments of the invention include communicating integration messages among applications through the adapter as altered. In typical embodiments, receiving instructions to alter the adapter includes detecting changes in the adapter profile. In such embodiments, detecting changes in the adapter profile includes creating a copy of the profile, and periodically comparing the profile and the copy. In other exemplary embodiments, receiving instructions to alter the adapter includes receiving from an application an administrative integration message bearing the instructions to alter the adapter. In such embodiments, altering the adapter in dependence upon the instructions includes updating the profile.

SOLUTION: A comparison is made by comparing the present situation in processor usage with the present processor speed. The present processor speed decreases by responding to the present processor speed greater than the present situation in processor usage. Compared with this, the present processor speed increases by responding to the present processor speed smaller than the present situation in processor usage. This method controls the processor speed to satisfy the situation in processor usage. As a result, when the smaller processor speed is required, the processor speed decreases to reduce the power usage. Furthermore, the power management can be based on the specific program running on the data processing system.

The MIDI file 108 is transmitted to a MIDI device 104 as a MIDI data stream 103. The MIDI device 104 receives the MIDI data stream 103 and generates music output based on the data stream 103.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a printer of the type comprising means for receiving sets of print data each representing a line of text and/or graphics characters to be printed on a print medium, detecting means for detecting, at the beginning of each set of print data, codes representing text spaces, and for detecting in each set of print data codes representing text or graphics characters, a print head for performing print operations on the print medium in accordance with said sets of print data, means for moving the print head relative to the print medium, and a control system, responsive the output of the detecting means after receipt of a set of print data, for moving the print head past the positions for printing the text spaces and into the correct position for printing the text or graphics character corresponding to the first of the character codes. According to the invention the printer is characterised in that the detecting means detects, at the beginning of each set of print data, codes representing blank graphics characters, and comprises means for converting the blank graphics character codes into codes representing text spaces, whereby the control system, on detecting the converted codes, moves the print head past the positions for printing the blank graphics characters into the correct position for printing the character corresponding to the first of the character codes.
