Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus enabling a user to stop transmission of radio wave without regard when the user powers on an information processor in a state where transmission of radio wave is prohibited. SOLUTION: The method for controlling transmission of radio wave generated by the information processor placed within an airplane comprises an acceleration detection step of detecting the acceleration applied to the processor; a flag setting step of setting a stop flag in response to the magnitude of the acceleration and that the magnitude of inclination of the airplane calculated from the detected acceleration is larger than a predetermined value; and a radio transmission stopping step of stopping transmission of radio wave in response to that the stop flag is set. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device and a power source control device capable of further enhancing reliability of the information processing device and performing an appropriate fault recovery processing in accordance with types of faults occurring in various parts of the information processing device. SOLUTION: A storage device 110, as an example of an information processing device, is provided with an executing part 200 for executing any one of normal processing, first fault recovery processing and second fault recovery processing, a fault recovery processing part 210 for allowing the executing part 200 to initiate the first fault recovery processing with a prerequisite that the executing part 200 is not operating normally in a first period during the normal processing and for allowing the executing part 200 to initiate the second fault recovery processing with a prerequisite that the executing part 200 is not operating normally in a second period during the first fault recovery processing, and a trouble information acquiring part 230 for acquiring, as trouble information, an internal state of the executing part 200 after initiating the first fault recovery processing, the internal state being unacquirable after initiating the second fault recovery. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power control method for a magnetic disk device for efficiently reducing power consumption of the magnetic disk device without reducing its processing efficiency. SOLUTION: The power control method for the magnetic disk device has a step for determining whether the kind of the last instruction transmitted to the magnetic disk device is a read instruction or a write instruction; a step for setting different stand-by time according to the result of the above determination about the kind of the instruction; and a step for transmitting, to the magnetic disk device, an idle instruction for shifting the magnetic disk device into an idle state of low power consumption, on condition that the stand-by time has elapsed from the completion of processing of the last transmitted instruction by the magnetic disk device.
