    Abstract: A MICROPOSITIONING DEVICE IS PROVIDED WHICH PERMITS X DIRECTION AND ROTATIONAL POSITIONING OF A POSITIONING PLATE THROUGH UTILIZATION OF A PAIR OF WEDGE SHAPED CAMS. THE PAIR OF CAMS ARE CAPABLE OF EFFECTING FIRST AND SECOND FORCES AT SPACED POINTS ON THE POSITIONING PLATE. WITH BOTH FORCES PRESENT ROTATIONAL POSITIONING IS OBTAINED WHILE WITH ONE FORCE PRESENT TRANSLATIONAL POSITIONING IS OBTAINED. MOVEMENT IN THE Y DIRECTION IS EFFECTED THROUGH MICROMETER SPINDLE MOVEMENT.

    Abstract: A LENS MOUNT ASSEMBLY FOR MOUNTING A PLURALITY OF LENS COMPONENTS ALIGNED IN ORDER FROM FRONT TO REAR, WITH THE REAR COMPONENT FIXED AND THE OTHER COMPONENTS ADJUSTABLE ROTATABLY AND TRANSVERSELY, COMPRISES AN INNER STATIONARY BARREL HAVING A REARMOST FLANGE IN WHICH THE REAR LENS COMPONENT IS MOUNTED, THE BARREL HAVING A PLURALITY OF AXIALLY EXTENDING ACCESS SLOTS EVENLY SPACED AROUND THE BARREL. THE BARREL CONTAINS A DIAPHRAGM BETWEEN LENS COMPONENTS WHICH HAS ADJUSTAMENT MEANS PROJECTING THROUGH ONE OF THE SLOTS. A PLURALITY OF MOUNTING SPACER RINGS FORMED WITH RIDGES IS LOCATED BETWEEN AND HAS LOOSELY MOUNTED THEREON THE LENS COMPONENTS. A CLAMPING RING IS THREADED INTO THE FRONT END OF THE INNER BARREL TO CLAMP THE LENS COMPONENTS INTO ADJUSTED POSITIONS. AN OUTER BARREL FITS OVER THE INNER BARREL AND IS FASTENED THERETO.

    Abstract: A jig for positioning an image mask and image receiving medium which includes a housing having a central bore, first means within the bore for supporting a mask or image receiving medium, a flexible diaphragm, second means for drawing vacuum, and a third means for applying superatmospheric pressure on one side of the diaphragm to deform it towards the first means to ensure proper positioning of the mask and image receiving medium. Also, the process for positioning the mask and image receiving medium is provided.
