PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image database device storing images photographed by a lot of freely participating persons for generating a virtual world using the photographed images. SOLUTION: An image database device 1 carries out communication via a network 10 to receive the images photographed by a plurality of users. The received images have photographing positions, which are represented by a common coordinate used among the users, of the images, photographing conditions for photographing the images, and image attributes of the photographed images. Then, the received image is compared with an image stored in association with an area including the photographing position of the received image. As the result of the comparison determination, on condition that the photographing condition lies within a predetermined range and the degree of similarity of images by the determination is out of a predetermined range, the area is divided, and the received images are stored in association with the divided areas for creating an image database. Abstract:
To materialize such high speed line-thinning a picture to be processed is divided into a plurality of sections, and the line-thinning processing is controlled on the basis of said sections. That is, the scanning for line-thinning is performed for each section. When points are removed in the scanning, incomplete areas that require further line-thinning are extracted basing on positions where the points are removed. On the other hand, if the point removal is not performed in that scanning for a section, the line-thinning is completed for that section. In the next scanning, scanning for line-thinning is not performed for all of sections, but is done for an area that contains the incomplete areas and is smaller than the section and is variably determined according to the incomplete area. Thus, the area to be scanned is reduced and dynamically controlled. It is because the incomplete area becomes more and more small as the scanning is repeated, so that the area variably determined according to the incomplete area also becomes smaller. The condition to terminate all processes for line-thinning is when it is determined that the line-thinning is completed for all sections after checking all of them.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hierarchically and network-likely manage images by correlating a plurality of photographed images each other therebetween, and to efficiently and effectively display the images. SOLUTION: This method correlates a plurality of the photographed images each other therebetween, (A) by selecting a plurality of the objective images with near photographing positions, out of a plurality of the photographed images, (B) by investigating whether one or more of master candidate images including a photographing range exists or not, as to each of a plurality of the objective images, (C) by investigating whether the other master candidate image included in the photographing range and including a photographing range of the objective image exists or not, as to each master candidate image, when the master candidate image exists, (D) by correlating the master candidate image as a master image, and the objective image as a sub-image. SOLUTION: An input/output device 120 to which this invention is applied operates in an independent state and operates in cooperation with a PC main body 110 also in the state of being housed in the PC main body 110. The device 120 consists of a display screen 310 comprising a touch panel, etc., a display screen 330 which is seen from outside even in a state where the cover of the PC main body is closed, a port 452 for exchanging data in the case of being housed in the PC main body 110, and a transmitter/receiver 462 for radio communication.
