Abstract: An integrated manual control input device is provided for use in a computer system having a graphical user interface. The device comprises a keyboard unit having a plurality of keys, a pointing actuator mounted to the keyboard between preselected ones of the keys for engagement by a user's index finger, at least one click button assembly pivotably mounted to the keyboard unit adjacent the keys and a normally open momentary switch beneath the click button assembly. The click button assembly has a button moveable downwardly by a user's thumb to select an ON state and subsequently releasable to select an OFF state. The button is also moveable downwardly and slidable laterally in a rearward direction to select a locked ON state to facilitate a drag operation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the frictional resistance in opening and closing of the cover of an input device by a user. SOLUTION: The information processor comprises the input device for accepting an input from the user, and a cover part openably and closably connected to the input device to shield at least a part of the input device in a closed state. In the information processor, there are provided a hinge part for connecting the input device to the cover part openably and closably by rotating the input device to a predetermined rotating axis, a frictional resistance keeping part for keeping the frictional resistance between the input device and the cover part at the hinge part in order to keep the angle to the input device, an operation part for accepting a reduction instruction for reducing the frictional resistance from the user, and a frictional resistance reduction part for reducing the frictional resistance at the hinge part when a reduction instruction is accepted. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior portable processor including a keyboard mechanism for improving the operability by inclining a keyboard a prescribed angle. SOLUTION: The processor is provided with a main body where a keyboard unit is arrange on an upper face and a cover body which is fitted to a main body so that it can open/close at almost the trailing end of the main body. The keyboard unit contains (a) a keyboard base covering the surface of the main body, (b) the keyboard 21 fitted to the front of the keyboard base so that it can turn in a first undulating direction, (c) and a lever fitted to almost the trailing end part of the keyboard base so that it can turn in a second undulating direction opposite to the first undulating direction and which retains the keyboard in a retaining position where the keyboard 21 is inclined at a prescribed angle.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To control the arbitrary removing of an information processing equipment housed within a device main body regardless of the operation of an injection button, etc., and to realize this by simple constitution and at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: A catch 88 is freely attachably and detachably provided a card insertion part 80 housing a PCMCIA card 84. This catch 88 corresponds to the PCMCIA card 84 in a loading state and is capable of preventing the taking out of the PCMCIA card 84. In addition the catch 88 is covered with a keyboard 22 in the state of closing. Consequently which using selectively the catch 88, the removing of the catch 88 is prevented by closing the keyboard 22 and the taking out of the PCMCIA card 84 from the card insertion part 80 is prevented. The taking out of the PCMCIA card 84 is controlled by the single catch 88 regardless of the operation of the injection button 86.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce a space for installing components by adding engaging means to a rocking means operated at the time of loading/unloading operation so as to surely load an equipment within a main body. CONSTITUTION: At the time of loading the equipment usable for an information processor (an HDD pack, e.g.) 38 within the main body of the information processor, the equipment 38 is held by a holding means. Next, the locking means 64 of the equipment 38 is operated under this state to rock the rocking means 64 to be engaged with the engaging means 72 and 74. As the result of this effect, the equipment 38 is surely loaded within the main body. At the time of unloading the equipment 38 from the main body, on the other hand, the rocking means 64 is rocked in a direction opposite to that at the time of the rocking operation to release the engaging state of the rocking means 64 and the engaging means 72 and 74. Thereby the number of the points of parts is reduced to reduce the space for installing the parts.

CONSTITUTION: A structure having a lid is provided with a latching mechanism for locking turning end sides of a keyboard part 20 and a lid 16, which are equipped with a body 12 in an opening/closing manner to the body 12 and includes a latching member 26A (or 26B), which is movable from a first position where the latching mechanism locks the lid 16 and the keyboard part 20 to the body 12 to a second position, where the locking condition of the body 12 to the lid 16 and the keyboard part is unlocked, and only the locking condition of the body 12 to the lid 16 is unlocked at a third position a between the first position and the second position. The latching member 26A is constantly urged to the first position by a compressive coil spring 36A, and the compressive coil spring 36A is deformed into a V-shape upper side projects upward) at the second position of the latching member 26A.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain an information processor controlling the removing of an information processing equipment housed within a device main body without permission and realizing this by simple structure and at a low cost. CONSTITUTION: An HDD pack 34 housed in the main body 12 is provided with a movable piece 62 and slides in the state of being housed within the main body 12 to be projected to the outside of the main body. In addition, this movable piece 62 can be engaged to the engaging hole 30 of the engaging projection 28 in the closing state of a keyboard 22. In addition, a catch 88 covered with a keyboard 22 can be fixed to a card insertion part 80 to be engaged with a PCMCIA card 84 within the card insertion part 80 in a loading state to prevent this from being unloaded. Consequently, by closing the keyboard 22 and sliding the movable piece 62 to properly lock, the opening of the keyboard 22, namely the unloading of devices such as the HDD pack 34 and the catch 88 (namely the PCMCIA card 84) are prevented.
