Abstract: Provided are a device and a method that by means of a simple operation, are capable of omitting a display of an unneeded node in conformance with a user's intention. This device is a device that displays multiple data items in a tree structure. This device contains: a display means (200) that displays the tree structure; a first recognition means (202) that responds to a selection of a first node, and as a first node group, recognizes all nodes connected from the first node in the higher-level direction and the lower-level direction; a second recognition means (204) that responds to a selection of a second node, and as a second node group, recognizes all nodes that connect from the second node in the higher-level direction and the lower-level direction; a movement means (206) that receives an operation moving the second node to the first node, and moves the second node group toward the first node; an identification means (208) that in accordance with a preset rule, identifies a node for which display should be omitted; and an instruction means (210) that issues an instruction for the display of the identified node to be omitted, and for the first node group and the second node group to be displayed nearby one another.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for sharing information (annotation information) added to the digital content such as a Web page between a plurality of users. SOLUTION: An intermediary server is arranged between a client terminal of the users and a server (a Web server) for controlling the digital content. The user desiring to add the common annotation information acquires the original digital content via the intermediary server not from the Web server. In that case, the intermediary server cashes the digital content, and sends it to the client side together with an annotation tool being a program for adding the annotation information. The annotation information made by this annotation tool is held by the intermediary server together with position information for displaying the information. A session key is formed as key information for relating the original digital content to data on the annotation information. The intermediary server forms content reproducing address information URL including data on this session key.

The service node 40 distributes the position data provided from the Web server 20 through the communication network 10 to the client node 30 and the client node 30 displays the route from the current position to the destination on a map and shows it to a driver.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade occurrence of such faults as the congestion of a network or the overflow of a storage placed at the receiver side by transmitting the electronic mail having a selectively attached file to each of destinations when plural destinations are designated to the electronic mail. SOLUTION: A mail transmission program 14 includes a mail file production part 16, a file message addition part 18 and a mail transmission part 20. If it's decided whether a user should automatically add an attached file to each mail address, the program 14 adds the attached files to only the electronic mails that have addresses to which the addition of attached files are designated. Meanwhile, the program 14 adds no attached files to the electronic mails to which no addition of attached files are designated and adds only the messages to these mails. Furthermore, the messages showing no addition or attached files are added to those said mails.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of easily designate the desired text part of a home page desired to read in voice by a home page creator only by designating the range of a text with an input device such as keyboard or mouse. SOLUTION: Only by marking the text part desired to read in voice by the home page creator with the input device and designating the range, tag information and a program required for a browser to read the text in the specified part of the home page are automatically inserted into the home page under creation so that the text read home page can be easily created. Besides, by automatically inserting a tag for visually displaying the part in the home page to be read easily to discriminate for the home page creator and a page reader, authoring tool remarkably improved in operability can be provided.
