    Abstract: An apparatus, device, and method for laterally moving or assisting in the lateral movement of at least one of a liquid sample and a reagent along a porous carrier matrix is disclosed. The method comprises contacting the matrix with the at least one of the sample and the reagent and exposing the at least one of a liquid sample and a reagent to a centrifugal force, thereby moving or assisting in the lateral movement of the at least one of a liquid sample and a reagent along the porous carrier matrix.
