Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite yarn which can sufficiently exhibit an electromagnetic wave-shielding performance, can easily be knitted or woven to produce the knit or woven fabric having good air permeability, flexibility and skin touch, and is used for the electromagnetic wave-shielding knit or woven fabric. SOLUTION: This composite yarn for the electromagnetic wave-shielding knit or woven fabric is produced by paralleling a single or a plurality of elecroconductive metal wires 20 and a single or a plurality of twisted yarns 30 or filament yarns parallel to each other to form the core yarn 40, and subjecting a twisted yarn or filament to a Z-twisting and/or S-twisting treatments around the core yarn 40x so as not to expose the electromagnetic metal wire 20.
