The inventive iterative method simultaneously calculates maximum likelihood estimation values for channel coefficients (h0, ..., hL; thetah) and DC-Offset (d; thetad) based on a training sequence (TSC) in a TDMA-mobile communication system. The SAGE-algorithm leads to 2 recursion formulae for iterative calculation of estimation values for the channel coefficients (h0, ..., hL; thetah) and the DC-Offset (d; thetad).

The inventive method is characterized in that a single standard-independent clock-pulse rate is generated in a signal processor or signal processing structure and a pulse frequency generator is disposed on the chip in a precise manner. The signal processing path comprises at least one controllable, asynchronous decimator for transposing the reception signal present in a single time frame to a respectively standard-specific time frame.

Abstract:
A system and apparatus for establishing whether a received signal frame is an audio signal frame is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a predetermined position in an audio signal frame containing a piece of secondary information for an audio characteristic of the audio data, with a selection device for selecting a succession of bits which is arranged at the predetermined position in the received signal frame. A decision-making device flags the received signal frame as an audio signal frame if the succession of bits represents the piece of secondary information.

The signal processing path includes at least one controllable, asynchronous decimator for transposing the reception signals present in a uniform time frame into a respective standard-specific time frame. This enables signals of a variety of mobile phone standards to be processed.
