Abstract: Data is to be estimated from a received plurality of data signals in a code division multiple access communication system. The data signals are transmitted in a shared spectrum at substantially a same time. A combined signal of the transmitted data signals are received over the shared spectrum (42) and sampled (43). A channel response for the transmitted data signals is estimated. Data of the data signals is estimated (44) using the samples and the estimated channel response. The data estimation uses a fourier transform based data estimating approach. An error in the data estimation introduced from a circulant approximation used in the fourier transform based approach is iteratively reduced.

Abstract: In a wireless digital communication system which may employ CDMA 5 technology, a method and system for obtaining channel quality (CQ) measurements for downlink resource allocation wherein a User Equipment (UE) continuously measures RSCP based on a communication on a reference channel provided by the network. Abstract: Resource units are assigned within a cell of a wireless time division duplex communication system using code division multiple access. Each resource units is associated with a time slot and a code. For selected ones of the cell's resource units, the code interference level is measured during that unit's time slot and using that unit's code. The code interference level is compared to a threshold to determine whether that unit has an acceptable code interference level. Resource units are assigned to communications out of the unit's having acceptable interference levels.
