Se describe un método y aparato para modo No-TX para una unidad transmisora/receptora inalámbrica (WTRU) y nodo B que suspende la transmisión de actualizaciones de control de energía y señalización asociada sobre canales dedicados de enlace ascendente y de enlace descendente. Los activadores y las señales entre la WTRU y el nodo B activan e inactivan el modo No-TX. Se restablece un enlace de radio para volver a asumir la transmisión de datos cuando se inhabilita el modo No-TX y los datos también pueden ser transmitidos durante oportunidades de transmisión definidas mientras se encuentra en modo No-TX.

A METHOD (200) AND APPARATUS FOR NO-TX MODE FOR A WIRELESS TRANSMIT/RECEIVE UNIT (WTRU) AND NODE B THAT SUSPENDS THE TRANSMISSION OF POWER CONTROL UPDATES (205) AND ASSOCIATED SIGNALING OVER DEDICATED UPLINK AND DOWNLINK CHANNELS.
