Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject novel anti-fog additive free from gradually bleeding out and being readily washed away by waterdrops, having a long duration and containing a compound (esterified compound) prepared by additional condensation of an alkyl(poly)amine with ethylene oxide. CONSTITUTION:An objective anti-fog additive containing a compound expressed by the formula (R is 8-22C alkyl or alkenyl; p is 1-3; 1+m+n=3-30) or a compound prepared by esterification reactions between mol above-mentioned compound and 1-4mol 8-22C (un)saturated fatty acid. A polyolefin resin, PVC resin, ethylene-vinyl acetate resin, etc., are exemplified as a synthetic resin for application of the above-mentioned anti-fog additive.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the temp. and rate of crystallization and improve the flowability and modability of a polypropylene resin by compounding the resin with a specific long-chain multibranched fatty acid (salt). CONSTITUTION:One mol of a satd. straight-chain fatty acid pref. having 6-16 carbon atoms is reacted with 0.2-2mol of a 4-16C alpha-olefin in the presence of a radical generator in an amt. of 0.01-5mol based on 1mol of the alpha-olefin; the reaction product is separated, purified, and, if necessary, neutralized with an alkali to give a long-chain multibranched fatty acid (salt) of the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each 4-14C alkyl; m is 1-4; and p and q are such numbers that the total number of carbon atoms in the molecule is 20-60). 100 pts.wt. polypropylene resin, 0.1-30 pts.wt. said long-chain multibranched fatty acid, and, if necessary, an antioxidant, stabilizer, light stabilizer, etc., are compounded.

CONSTITUTION:5-95wt% 2-4C alkylene oxide adduct (A) (additon ratio: 1-30mol) of an alkyl (1-30C)-phenol/formalin condensate having a degree of condensation of 2-10, a styrenated phenol/formalin condensate or a benzylated phenol/formalin condensate is blended with 95-5wt% ester (B) derived from a 2-20C polyhydric alcohol (e.g., sorbitol) and a 1-36C fatty acid or a 2-3C alkylene oxide (1-100mol) adduct (B) of said ester to obtain an anti-fogging agent for synthetic resins. 0.5-5.0pts.wt. said anti-fogging agent is added to 100pts.wt. synthetic resin such as PVC, PP, etc.

CONSTITUTION:At least one monomer selected from among an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (or its derivative) (A) (e.g.: acrylic acid), an alpha,beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (B) (or its derivative) (e.g.: maleic acid) and an alpha,beta- ethylenically unsaturated monomer (C) other than the components (A) and (B) (e.g.: vinyl acetate) is provided. At least one monomer is (co)polymerized using an org. thiol compd. (e.g.: n-octyl mercaptan) of the formula R-SH (wherein R is a straight-chain or branched 8-24C alkyl, aryl etc.). The (co)polymer (salt) is incorporated as an essential ingredient to obtain an intended dispersion stabilizer for a coal-water slurry.
