    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject curing agent useful for glomerular nephritis, articular rheumatism, systemic erythematosus and intractable disease of blood vessel, etc., exhibiting excellent removing effect for immune complex with a slight side effect containing specific acidic heteropolysaccharide as active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:The aimed agent contains arabinose, mannose, galactose, glucuronic acid and xylose outwardly secreted by callus derived from plant such as a part of flower of Polianthes Tuberosa L. belonging to genus Polianthes L. as constituting sugars. Said acidic heteropolysaccharides having bonding forms and constituting ratios expressed by the formula and 1X10 -2X10 molecular weight are contained in said agent as active ingredients. Said active ingredients are obtained by culturing under completely artificial control with slight variations of yield of the polysaccharides, total sugar content, uronic acid content, protein content, water content and constituting ratio of neutral sugar. Said active ingredient also has high uniformity and solubility in water, thus is administrated as injection agent with dissolving in physiological saline solution, etc., or as oral administration such as tablet in mixing with carrier.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an antiallergic agent having excellent antiallergic action, antagonizing action on blood platelet activation factor, antihistamine action and high safety, containing a mannan as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:The aimed substance is obtained by using a mannan (e.g. yeast mannan), a polysaccharide comprising mannose as a main constituent component, as an active component and by pharmaceutical manufacturing by a conventional procedure. Mannans can be collected from various microorganisms and plants by a well-known method and mannans sold on the market can be used. For example, yeast mannan exists in cell wall of yeast fungus, cultivated under a culture condition and extracted. A dose is 10-500mg per adult daily and administered dividedly once - several times.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject substances fractionated from a peach leaf, having a high solubility to water, a high stability, a high antiinflammatory effect and a high safety to the skin by treating an extract from a peach leaf with active carbon. CONSTITUTION:A peach leaf is extracted at 50-90 deg.C using water and/or a lower alcohol (A mixture obtained by blending ethanol with 20-50wt.% water is preferable) as the extraction solvent in an amount of 6-12 pts. wt. based on 1 pts.wt. raw material and the resultant extract is filtered and/or concentrated according to the conventional method. Active carbon is then added thereto in an amount of 0.01-5wt.%, preferably 0.1-2wt.% based on the peach leaf as the raw material followed by stirring. The active carbon is then removed by a suitable method such as filtration, thus obtaining the objective substances fractionated from the peach leaf. A bath liquid obtained by blending the resultant fractionated substances is free from generating turbidity of hot water and shows an excellent bathing effect.

CONSTITUTION:The aimed anticancer agent containing arabinose, mannose, galactose, glucuronic acid and xylose as ingredients, having binding manner and constituent ratio expressed by the formula and containing acidic heteropolysaccharides having 1X10 -2X10 molecular weight as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned polysaccharides are obtained by culturing a part of organ or tissue of a plant (e.g. Polianthes tuberosa L.) belonging to the genus Polianthes used as an explant in a culture medium containing a plant hormone to induce callus and subjecting the callus to culture; preferably shake culture in a culture medium (preferably liquid medium) containing a plant hormone at 20-30 deg.C for 15-30 day and collecting from the cultured product.
