    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide emulsion having an excellent touch to the skin and good stability. SOLUTION: The method for producing the oil-in-water emulsion is carried out as follows. A polymer having a group of formula (1) (OX) n -E 2 -R (1) [wherein, the number (n) of X are the same or different and denote each a 1-6C straight-chain or branched bivalent saturated hydrocarbon group; n denotes a number of 5-300; E 2 denotes an ether bond or oxycarbonyl group (OCO or COO); and R denotes a 4-30C straight-chain or branched alkyl group which may be substituted] in at least the side chain is mixed with an aqueous solution of a water-soluble polyol and a hydrophobic compound.
