Abstract:
Disclosed is a 5.alpha.-reductase inhibitor comprising as an effective component an extract from leaves and/or pericarps of a walnut. The inhibitor exhibits highly potent 5.alpha.-reductase inhibiting activity and high safety, and is thus effective in curing and preventing diseases caused by testosterone, e.g. male-pattern alopecia, hirsutism, prostate cancer and the like.
Abstract:
Amine derivatives represented by general formula (1) and preparations for external use containing the same which exhibit excellent effects of preventing the skin from aging, etc. In formula (1), R1 represents C¿1-30? hydrocarbyl optionally interrupted by an ether linkage (but excluding phenyl and benzyl); one of A and B represents (2), while the other represents -OR?4; R2 and R3¿ represent each H, amidino, alkanoyl, C¿1-20? hydrocarbyl, etc. and R?4 and R5¿ represent each H, phosphoryl, etc.
Abstract:
A dermatologic preparation containing at least one of the benzoic acid derivatives represented by general formula (I) and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof, having a sufficient effect of inhibiting sebum secretion and being free from side effects, thus being safe for the human body, wherein R represents -OH, -OR or -NHR ; R represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R represents -OR or (II); R represents alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl; R represents C4-C10 linear or branched, saturated or monounsaturated alkyl or cycloalkylalkyl; X represents -O- or -NH-; and n represents 1 or 2.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a hair growth inhibitor and a depilation accelerator, each comprising a crude drug selected from Bupleuri Radix, Perillae Herba, Rhei Rhizoma and Akebiae Caulis, or an extract thereof. This inhibitor or accelerator makes it possible to inhibit the growth of body hair or promote depilation, respectively, thereby reducing the frequency of hair removal treatment. Moreover, it makes the'hair body finer, thereby facilitating the removal of the hair from feet or arms.
