Abstract: Toner for full colouR electrophotography comprises a binder resin (I), a carnauba wax release agent (II) and a colourant. (I) is based on a linear polyester (III) derived from satd. or unsatd. aliphatic dicarboxylic acid(s), their anhydrides and lower alkyl esters, in which the satd. acids contain \-3 C and the unsatd. acids contain \-5 C; and have a softening point of 90-120 deg C (determined with a Koka-type flow tester). Also claimed is a method of producing fixed images for full colour electrophotography.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which suppresses occurrence of ultrafine powder in a classifying step, increases classifying efficiency, and efficiently gives a toner, and also to provide an air current system classifier used for the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a toner includes a step of classifying a starting material mixture obtained by mixing a kneaded material prepared by kneading at least a binder resin and a colorant under melting and then carrying out cooling and coarse grinding with fine inorganic oxide particles, wherein the classifying step comprises a plurality of sequential classifying steps, and in at least one classifying step, an air current system classifier is used which has a dispersion chamber in which powder supplied for classification is dispersed and a classification chamber in which dispersed powder is classified, and powder discharged from the dispersion chamber, together with powder discharged from the classification chamber, is fed to the following classifying step. In the air current system classifier used for the manufacturing method, a discharge pipe from the dispersion chamber and a discharge pipe from the classification chamber are coupled to each other. SOLUTION: In the air classifier, the lower surface of a guide plate and the upper surface of classifying plate are vertically disposed opposedly to each other via an aperture, at least one part of the lower surface of the guide plate has an inclination angle so as to be made higher toward the center, the upper surface of the classifying plate has an inclination angle which is made higher toward the center, the central part of the upper surface is opened and is communicated with a fine powder discharging port and the outside of the outer peripheral part of the classifying plate is communicated with a coarse powder discharging port.
